School Health Nursing Service

Lifetime service
Who is the service for?

Our School Nursing Service is available to all children and young people living, or at school/college within the Bristol and South Gloucestershire local authority area, as a first point of contact for advice and signposting.

What we do?

Our School Health Nursing Service ensures that every parent and child/young person has access to health advice, support and signposting (including sexual health, emotional and mental health issues) as well as support in relation to healthy lifestyles.

How do I access this service?

Requests for support can come from schools, parents/carers, young people, GPs and partner agencies. An initial contact is made by telephone to offer advice, signposting and written information.

If more complex or the concern is not resolved, a more detailed face to face assessment and intervention will be offered, following any onward referrals for more specialist advice.
