Orthopaedic Interface Service (OIS)

This is a primary care-based orthopaedic service providing specialist assessment, diagnosis and management of orthopaedic problems, including requesting investigations, administering injections and referring patients for operations.

*Infection Control Notice:

To prevent the spread of infection, if you have an appointment but are feeling unwell or have any infectious conditions (rash, diarrhoea or vomiting) please do not visit the department, and call the appointments team to rearrange your appointment.

Who is this service for?

This service is for adults who are registered with a GP in the Bath and North East Somerset area.

How does this service work / what's involved in this service?

The Orthopaedic Interface Service (OIS) aims to:

  • Provide quick access to expert orthopaedic assessment
  • Provide a service closer to home wherever possible
  • Give a clear explanation of the problem and inform you of the possible treatment options
  • Promote self-management and independence

You can be referred to this service by your:

  • GP
  • Specialist Physiotherapist

Our office hours are:
Monday to Thursday from 8.00am to 5.00pm
Fridays from 8.15am - 4.15pm

There are clinics on every working day except Monday.
There are no clinics on Bank Holidays or at the weekend.
