Our Short Intensive Night Sitting Service (SINSS) is an emergency service which provides support to a person who is deemed to be at risk of hospital admission, if remaining at home overnight, unsupported.

Who is this service for?

This service is for people who are registered with a GP in the South Gloucestershire area.

How does this service work / what's involved in this service?

Night sitters provide short term help for vulnerable people in their own homes, who are at risk of hospital admission. We can also facilitate early discharge from hospital by providing night time care and support for the unwell, as well as end-of-life patients and their families.

How do I access this service?

You can only be referred to this service by your GP or other health care professional.

If you are a GP or health care professional and you want to make a referral, please contact the Joint Community Access Portal Team on 01454 865 000. Patients can also use this number for enquiries.

What does this service cost?

This is an NHS funded service and is therefore of no cost to you.
