Our specialist teams of dietitians provide a community based Nutrition and Dietetics service. We work in the community and in hospitals to help people make dietary changes to prevent and treat nutrition related diseases.

Who is this service for?

The service is for adults over the age of 18 who are registered with a GP in the Bath & North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire areas.

How does this service work / what's involved in this service?

We work in the community and in hospitals to help people make dietary changes to prevent and treat nutrition related diseases and their symptoms including:

  • Malnutrition
  • Diabetes
  • Gastrointestinal disorders
  • Food intolerances and allergies
  • Cancer
  • Swallowing difficulties
  • Weight management

We offer tailored advice and treatment to help you improve your health and lifestyle, either in a group session or on an individual basis. We also provide some nutrition training to healthcare professionals and work closely with other professionals to provide care in the community.

You can be referred to this service by your GP or other healthcare professional.

What does this service cost?

This service is funded by the NHS and is therefore of no cost to you.
