Falls and Balance
Falls are a common, but often overlooked, cause of injury. Around one in three adults over 65 who live at home will have at least one fall a year, and about half of these will have more frequent falls.
Anyone can have a fall, but older people are more vulnerable and likely to fall because they may have balance problems, muscle weakness, poor vision or a long-term health condition.
Our Falls and Balance services support people who have been identified as being at an increased risk of falling, or who have had unexplained falls or black-outs. The team will work with you to find out why your fall happened and to treat any underlying problems that may increase your risk of falling. We provide advice and information to improve your safety, balance and confidence.
