Sirona care & health is today launching its Annual Awards for Excellence and is asking people to nominate a member of staff who has gone above and beyond in their role.

Their “I Think They Deserve It” award will be presented as part of a virtual awards ceremony on Thursday 1 October 2020 and will be one of many awarded on the night.

Simon Knighton, Sirona’s chairman, said: “Our staff are the public face of community health and care services for many people and our personal approach is frequently highlighted in the thousands of compliments and letters which we receive each year from individuals across the communities we serve.

“Recognising the achievements of our teams is really important to me and I’m looking forward to hearing from people about the person who made a difference to you because of the way they welcomed you to a clinic or who tailored a service to support you or your family or went above and beyond to meet your needs in some other way.”

Sirona staff provide community NHS funded health services for children and adults throughout Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire as well as Local Authority funded Residential and Extra Care facilities in Bath and North East Somerset.

The annual Sirona Awards for Excellence are open to all staff –  clinical and non-clinical –  working across the area and 2020 will be the ninth event. Last year the I Think They Deserve It award was won by Ruth Grindrod from Sirona’s Extra Care facility, St John’s Court in Bath. She was alikened to a real life “Mary Poppins” always coming up with good ideas to improve the quality of life for people who live there by making every day easier, fun and homely for them.

Janet Rowse, Chief Executive, Sirona, said: “Each year, I read every single nomination; the care, the compassion and the commitment demonstrated day in, day out always shines through. I know 2020 will be similar as on a daily basis I am hearing stories of people going that extra mile to support those we serve across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire and Bath and North East Somerset.

“We are looking for stories which move and inspire us as well as filling us with pride. It really helps with the judging if you can bring to life the reasons you are nominating an individual, the impact they have had on you or others and why you feel so moved to put them forward.”

If you want to nominate someone please send details to sirona.communications@nhs.net by 5pm on July 31st 2020. Please include as much information about the person you are nominating as possible and include your details too.
